Film wedding photography starts before the scan: with the light, the frame and the decision to press the shutter. I’m Federico Alessandro Galli, an Italian photographer and filmmaker working between Houston and Milan. I photograph on real 35mm film and Rolleiflex 6×6, alongside my digital work.

A different rhythm, not a digital filter
Twelve frames on a roll of 6×6 make me look a little longer. I’m drawn to the shape of the light and to expressions that do not need much direction. Black and white makes those choices especially clear; colour film brings another texture to the story.
The photographs shown here began on film. Their grain is not a preset applied to digital files. The Sav + Shaz story brings together original scans in colour and black and white, from preparations to the ceremony and celebration.
Adding film to your wedding
Film photography is available on request and quoted separately from the standard wedding collections. We choose the format, number of rolls and place it has in your day before booking. It can be a focused set of portraits or a wider part of the story; the scope needs to fit your timeline.
Tell me which photographs speak to you and what you are planning. We will agree the selection and delivery details in your proposal. Do not assume film, scans or physical prints are included in a digital collection simply because you see them in the portfolio.
